I came to WTRE in the fall of 2001, during my senior year of high
school. I took a careers class that was taught by Mary Jo Nieman,
who contacted WTRE about my internship. Much to my advantage, Sandy
Biddinger had actually gone to school with Mary Jo at South Decatur.
I began interning at WTRE in September, beginning first with Mark
Gravely and learning how to run the board and interact with
listeners on the Trading Post. As time went by I began board
operating for local ball games. Throughout the years I have learned
to do many things within WTRE, today I spend the majority of my time
working on promotional events and love it! I have continued my
employment with WTRE throughout my college career. I will be
graduating in just a few short weeks from Purdue University with a
Bachelors degree in Nursing. I will continue my part time work at
WTRE as I dive into the nursing profession full time! I have made
many friends while working at WTRE, the support that the community
has shown me throughout my college career is overwhelming and truly
appreciated!
