Event Title: Community Bicycle Rides

When: Every Tuesday & Thursday at 6pm starting April 1st, 2008. Weather Permitting.
Where: Meet at the gazebo on the court house square.
Who: All riders are welcome. Ride will be set up for both beginner and experienced riders. Youth riders must be accompanied by an adult.
What: Road ride will consist of a short loop (appx 6 miles) on county roads, return to town, then a longer-faster loop (appx. 20 miles) returning to start point.

Ride leaders may not always be present, but routes will be marked and maps will be available. This is going to be a lot of fun and a great opportunity for fitness and training. Most of us prefer to ride as a group, our hope is this will organize all riders in and around Greensburg. Hope to see you there. Helmets are strongly recommended!!

The Immunization Clinic is located to the right of Dr. Wiseman's office (in the same building - next door to the hospital).

Recent statistics have shown that breast cancer is more likely to be caught at a later stage in Decatur County, compared to national statistics. Early detection, which can be achieved through regular breast self-exams and mammograms, is the best way to find cancer in an early stage. The stage of breast cancer is important because the survival rate is increased greatly at the earlier stages of breast cancer.
Wendy Noe from the Komen Foundation will be joining us to talk about the basics of breast cancer and the importance of early detection. Be prepared to swim. Clinic will run for 4 weeks and is designed to work on one of the basic swimming strokes each week.
Held Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 3:30 to 5:00 pm from April 9 - May 3rd.
5 to 17 years old and able to swim 10 yards with no assistance is eligible.

The Greensburg Public Library will be hosting the 2nd annual Week In Decatur County Photo Contest beginning on April 20. We are fortunate to be able to kick off this week long contest with a very special program on Saturday, April 19 at 10 a.m. when Russell Wilhoit will share his interesting and entertaining postcard collection. Russell has been collecting postcards from Greensburg and Decatur County's past for many years. This all new presentation will be given in PowerPoint format with an LCD projector so that all will be able to see each card in a large format. The actual cards will be on display for those who would like a more personal look. Russell will discuss each card, giving a bit of history and fact about each one. This collection of cards contain pictures of many of the lost buildings from the area, as well as various views of the "famous" courthouse tower, and homes, people, and places throughout the county. Russell's extensive knowledge of the history and genealogy of this area allows him to share a wealth of information with the audience. The postcard collection is fun and you will enjoy the history behind the cards. The present ability to email and telephone has rendered this "old fashioned" method of communicating with friends and family a lost art. This program is free and refreshments will be served.
